Q + A

Let's Get This Out of the Way:

Is your wedding really on a Thursday?

Yes.

Why Thursday?

Yep, October 9 is a Thursday—no, it’s not a typo. Choosing a Thursday wedding gives us extra time to spend with our closest family and friends and gives you a chance to fully enjoy all Dallas has to offer, including the iconic State Fair of Texas. We know a weekday wedding might require a little extra planning, and we truly appreciate your effort to make it work. With Dallas being a major travel hub, most of you are within a quick flight or a reasonable drive of less than 10 hours (Midwesterners, right?). The ceremony is Thursday evening, so whether you fly in that morning and leave right after, or stick around for a weekend of fun, we’re just grateful to celebrate with you.

Why is it in Dallas?

The beginning of our relationship has roots in Dallas, and Solomon is from the area—so it holds a special place in our hearts. Plus, once you see the venue, you’ll understand why Lexi was NOT taking no for an answer on this location. Also, we planned the wedding in October so you’d have the chance to experience the State Fair of Texas. Real Solomon-and-Lexi fans know how much the fair means to us. Come for the wedding, stay for Big Tex and fried Oreos.

What to Wear

Is there a dress code?

Yes. This is a formal event at a beautiful venue, and we'd like our guests to match, so formal attire is expected. For women, this means ankle to floor-length gowns and dress shoes. For men, dark suits, dress shirts, ties, and dress shoes. Jeans? Absolutely not. You have 364 other days of the year to wear denim and October 9, 2025 is NOT IT.

Are there any colors or styles you’d prefer me to wear?

We’re going for a timeless, romantic vibe that’s both elevated and intimate. The bridesmaids will be wearing black, so anything complementary to a dark, moody romance aesthetic is perfect. Think jewel tones, rich textures, and anything that says “elegant dinner party at an upscale hotel bar.” Our wedding mood board is full of dramatic elegance and warm charm: lush florals in burgundy, plum, and black accents, paired with soft candlelight and sleek metallic touches. If you love bows and pearls, you’re already on theme. The wedding is in Texas in October, so while it may be warm outside, the event is indoors—no need to sweat over your look (literally).

Kiddos & Plus-Ones

Can I bring my kids?

No. As much as we know you love your little ones, we’ve decided to make this a 21+ event. We’re paying per person for the festivities, which includes an open bar. So, unless little infant Johnny or Jenny is ready to down a tequila shot, sip some wine, or enjoy one of our signature cocktails, we kindly ask that you leave the kiddos at home. But seriously, if they do show up, don’t be surprised when we Venmo request you later—or add an extra fee for any interruptions during the day. (Kidding! Kind of.) Think of it as a night off for you and fewer spills for us (maybe).

Can I bring a plus-one?

Unfortunately, no. While we’re big believers that “the more, the merrier,” our wallets don’t quite agree—since we’re paying per person for a delicious dinner and open bar. Plus-ones are only permitted if explicitly stated on your invitation. That said, we understand that some of you may feel uncomfortable attending solo, and we want everyone to have a great time. If this applies to you, reach out to us well in advance (we’re talking months, not weeks). Depending on the situation, we may be able to accommodate your guest for an additional cost, which we’d kindly ask you to cover. Please don’t show up with an unapproved plus-one, though—that’ll result in your guest going home hungry, thirsty, and sweaty from standing the whole time because, unfortunately, we won’t have a chair for them.

Food & Drink

Will there be an open bar?

Yes! We appreciate all of our friends and family who traveled to the great Lone Star State to celebrate with us. While we can’t thank you enough for making the trip, we can at least try—by providing an open bar. Cheers!

Photos & Social Media

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

We kindly ask that you turn off and silence your phones during the ceremony—yes, this means no photos with your cell phone (or iPads, please!). Let’s be real: you’ll probably never look at those photos again, and we’ve hired a professional photographer to capture all our best angles on our best day. Once we share those amazing photos on social media, feel free to download them and relive the magic whenever you want. We’re just trying to avoid a sea of phones—or people crouching in the aisle for the perfect shot—showing up in our professional images.

Can I post your wedding on social media?

Of course! Lexi and Solomon actually met on social media (long story), so we know just how amazing it can be. We’d love to see our day through your eyes, so snap away and share! We don’t have a wedding hashtag yet, but we’re open to ideas. If you think of something clever, send it our way—bonus points for creativity!
